About this product

GoldenEye Chloramphenicol eye ointment treats acute bacterial conjunctivitis. It targets the bacteria that cause red, sticky, irritated eyes. Apply a 1 cm ribbon 3 to 4 times daily for 5 days, or use the ointment at night if you use drops by day. Suitable for adults and children aged 2 years and over.

How to use
  • Wash and dry your hands. Pull the lower eyelid down and look up. Squeeze about 1 cm of ointment into the space between the lower lid and eye, then close the eye for a moment. If you also use chloramphenicol drops, use the ointment at night. If using ointment alone, apply 3 to 4 times a day. Keep using it for 5 days, even if you feel better. If your symptoms do not improve within 48 hours, or worsen, seek medical advice. Do not wear contact lenses during treatment. Wait 24 hours after the last dose before using soft lenses. Do not use for more than 5 days without medical advice. Discard any remaining ointment after finishing the 5-day course.
Main Ingredients
  • Each gram contains chloramphenicol 10 mg, 1%. Other ingredients are liquid paraffin and white petroleum. Pack size is 4 g. Store below 25 ¬¨‚àûC and replace the cap after use.
Side Effects & Cautions
You may notice brief stinging, burning, or blurred vision after application. Allergic reactions can occur. Stop use and seek help immediately if you develop swelling, breathing problems, or a severe rash. Rare changes in blood cells have been reported with chloramphenicol. Stop treatment and seek medical advice if you feel unusually tired or bruise easily. Do not use if you are allergic to chloramphenicol, if you have had previous blood problems with chloramphenicol, or if blood disorders run in your family. Speak to a clinician before use if you have glaucoma or dry eye, recent eye injury or surgery, cloudy eye, unusual pupil, light sensitivity, a foreign body in the eye, or if your eyesight is affected. Tell your pharmacist if you take bone-marrow-suppressing medicines such as azathioprine or chemotherapy. Ask for advice if pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not share your tube with others.
